Design Thinking For Product Manager

A structured, instructor-led training that gives you the frameworks and vocabulary to make user-centered product decisions from research through validation.

About this Training

From assumption to evidence, the full design thinking framework

What to Expect

Design thinking has a clear process. Most teams only ever use part of it. This training walks you through every stage, from understanding real user needs to validating a solution before it's built.

Delivered across 3 sessions, each one covers a distinct stage of the process. Attend all three for the full framework, or focus on the session most relevant to where you are right now. Each one is instructor-led, structured, and designed to give you knowledge you can apply the same week.

This is a training, not a workshop. There are no group exercises or live pitches.

Training Breakdown

One training. Three parts.

Each part covers a distinct stage of the design thinking process. Attend all three to understand the complete framework.
1
Part One
Empathize & Define — Understanding The Real Problem
Before a team can design anything well, it has to understand who it's designing for and why that user's problem matters.

Learning Objective

Recognize the difference between an empathy interview and a sales conversation
Understand how personas and journey maps are built and where they go wrongUnderstand how personas and journey maps are built and where they go wrong
Identify the difference between a symptom and a root cause in user feedback
Evaluate whether a problem statement is specific enough to align a team
2
Part Two
Ideate & Prototype — From Insight To Concept
With the problem defined, this session covers how teams generate and test ideas before engineering time is spent on the wrong thing.

Learning Objective

Understand how ideation techniques like SCAMPER and mind mapping actually work
Recognize the difference between divergent and convergent thinking, and when each applies
Understand what makes a prototype low-fidelity enough to be useful
Explain how a design sprint compresses weeks of debate into days
3
Part Three
Test & Iterate — Validating Before You Build
The final session closes the loop, covering how to read a usability test and turn the results into a clear decision.

Learning Objective

Understand what makes a usability test produce actionable feedback, not anecdotes
Distinguish a design problem from a positioning problem
Recognize the difference between a go, iterate, or kill signal
Understand how design thinking fits into a team's existing product rituals

How it Works

Structured Learning. No Fluff.

A Proven Framework

Built on the same empathize-define-ideate-prototype-test process used by IDEO, not an invented curriculum.

Built for teams

Every stage is translated for how PMs actually work, not generic design theory from a design bootcamp.

Real design cases

Every stage is walked through with real empathy interviews, prototypes, and usability tests, not textbook theory.

A framework you keep

Every session ends with a repeatable framework you can recognize, apply, and bring back to your team.
